The thing with many black metal songs that intrigues me so much is their elusiveness. They come off as harsh and simple when you first listen, but then after awhile, they start to reveal themselves and unravel a true, unique, and cold beauty.
It parallels their message. The elusiveness of the art mimics the elusiveness of the worldview of black metal. Of hidden beauty in nature and humanity and the cosmos, of the infinite coldness of a perfect reality.
